This is the sequel to the original movie 47 Meters down, it has failed to impress as the original one did. It has quite simple and predictable storyline with interesting scenes in the movie. But the shark visuals are great. Action scenes were filmed wonderfully. If you want some action, you can watch it. But don't compare it with the first one.
Disappointing is the word that describes my experience. The original film 47 Meters down was a superb film and I loved it. So naturally I expected more from the sequel. But it is not really a sequel to the original one. This is filmed on the lines of first movie but with flat storyline and no proper plot. Sharks are awesome though. The only thing that is good in this film is a bit of a action and I also loved the ending.
The suspense in the film starts off within the first ten minutes and really never lets up.There were many shots where the camera would pan around the dark water. This really put the viewers in the shoes of the characters and made you feel like you were actually underwater, desperately anticipating an attack. The fact that you couldn't see more than a few feet in front of you really made the movie suspenseful. The acting was actually really good, and I liked all of the characters.
Too dark and too predictable - but short enough to survive it. Just another shark movie with loose ends. Scenic and nice. Though escaping from shark jaws (literally) is very strange. The first movie was better than this one but never the less this too has some scary moments and a diferent ending. But i still wished for more moments.
The film is average. Liked the first one better which has a preferably more interesting ending compared to this one's predictable cliche ending of the two main leads surviving. There are some surprsing twists which hold the movie together. Mia and Shasha's father's death was an unexpected twist. I would have loved to see how they dealt after surviving the situation and what happened to them after that. Acting was good by all four female actors. The location choosen for filming was beautiful. Cinematography is more towards the realistic feels as you would get if you were actually surviving sharks underwater. But the con to it is that it created confusion for the viewers. There are many parts in which you can't see whats going on because of bad lighting. Overall the film is worth watching and keeps you on the edge of your seats despite it's flaws.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged centers on misfit Mia (Sophie Nélisse) and her cool step-sister Sasha (Corinne Foxx), who’ve just moved to coastal Yucatan, Mexico, because of their scuba-excavating dad’s job.Hoping to help the girls settle in and bond better as sisters, their dad offers them a day out on a glass-bottomed boat ride. Sasha’s new friends, headstrong Alexa (Brianne Tju) and impulsive Nicole (Sistine Rose Stallone), convince the sisters to play hookey and join them on a super-secret cave dive into some flooded Mayan ruins. Hijinks ensue and a cave-in forces the girls into an underwater maze that’s flooded with sharks.
Mia is having tough time adjusting to her new school in Mexico. Mia's Step sister sasha never acknowledges her existence. when alexa and nicole plan a diving adventure along with Sasha, they tag Mia with them for fun. The adventure turns out to be a nightmare when they try to explore a submerged temple which is a host for anceint white sharks. With one of them leading to get the sharks out, the girls needs to survive themselves from the blood hunger sharks while surviving on limited oxygen available in their tanks. The film is totally underwater and perhaps it is too much to expect from a shark movie except people eaten by sharks in different creative ways. Though the film seems to be disappointing still the actors did their best with the story and scope available.
One of the worst shark movies ever !! Only 1-2 good scenes that were also shown in trailer. So if u have seen the trailer then there is nothing in the movie to see. No story and awful acting. Direction and visuals are also not good. You can enjoy at your home sleeping than going to watch this movie and can save money for some other movie. BIG NO...
I am currently watching this movie again. Yes, that's how much this movie rocks for me! I am a shark movie fanatic and every time there's a shark movie coming out I always anticipate it to be a good one. Probably one that really left a mark was Hally Berry's Dark Tide ages ago. After watching In The Deep I was completely blown away and was left with such great satisfaction. I love Mandy Moore and this movie is a perfect way of getting back since we haven't really heard from her for a long time. This movie is just a breath of fresh air. Not too commercial with overrated publicity. Just yesterday I recommended this to a friend and she absolutely loved it! Definitely this is way better than The Shallows
Just finished watching 47 Meters Down starring Mandy Moore & I just had to leave some positive feedback. Absolutely excellent film with great story & good acting.... Entertaining all the way through maybe the best film I’ve seen all year... I have been binge watching Shark movies for the last month like Open Water & Capsized etc though I love the Open Water Trilogy I must say #47MetersDown Takes The Cake - GREAT JOB !!!
Good one, The movie was dark and predictable - but it was short enough to survive it. Just another shark movie with loose ends. Scenic and nice. Though escaping from shark jaws (literally) is very strange. Must watch in theatres peak satisfaction with the music and sounds overall great movie! a bit scary and lot of kills and lot of brave actions by a girl. Personally liked the movie.
Before we sit down in the theater, we know pretty much exactly what happens. Two girls go scuba diving in a shark cage and wind up a trapped in said cage 47 meters below the surface. Since they aren't experts, we know how they will react. Then sharks show up. Since they are sharks in a scary movie, we know how they will react. There is no real room for surprises. If you expect rampant plot twists and character development, you must not see this type of movie often. It is what it is and it knows that. Despite the only real mystery being which of the girls survives, if any, or perhaps both, the movie actually manages to provide a refreshing twist.
The first time i saw the trailer i thought the movie would be amazing and full of thrilling scenes however unfortunately i was wrong. The acting in it was mediocre and falls short of satisfaction. Not only that, the storyline was not as good as i hoped. Truly bad shark movie.
